In the year 1996 it was upgraded from Government School of Music & Dance, Warangal to Government College of Music & Dance and rechristened as Vidyaranya Government College of Music and Dance, Warangal.

1972 to 1984
Year of Establishment and year of Rejuvenation

This Institution Established in the year 1972 but running in Polytechnic campus was rejuvenated as Government School of Music & Dance, Warangal in the year 1984. This was due to the creation of new department of Cultural Affairs and the Mantle  changed from Department of Technical Education to Department of Cultural Affairs in the year 1980.
